Warrior Training: Four Five and Six.

Warrior Training: Days Two and Three.
I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to writing, sheesh.  Yesterday’s session focused on steady pacing, as I’ll need a ton of energy after running two miles to accomplish the obstacles.  I ran 18 laps (about a mile) at about 3 mph, paying attention to my speed and steady breaths. I left the track and did 50 roman sit ups, and then ran another mile on the track.  I ended it with two sprints...

Warrior Training: Day One.
I will be participating in the Warrior Dash on March 5th, and although most people take all year to train for something like this…  I’m not most people.  I think 6 weeks will do just fine.  The Warrior Dash is a 3.18 mile run and obstacle course that tours the country.  This is the first time it will be near New Orleans.  I’ve never done anything like this before, but I enjoy...

My daddy always said...
There’s a tradition that we have down here in New Orleans that may exist in other parts of the country, maybe.. for all I know.  The tradition is to eat 1) Pork 2) Cabbage and 3) Black Eyed Peas on New Years day.  The idea is that by consuming the Pork will bless you with good health, the Cabbage will bless you with money and the Black Eyed Peas will bless you with luck.  Growing up this...
